LEGO's rumored $1,000 Death Star Set may feature over 40 minifigures
There are already some massive LEGO sets on the market, but if recent rumors are true, their piece counts could soon be dwarfed. Leaks surrounding a new Death Star set, supposedly launching this year, suggest it will include more than 40 minifigures—adding even more excitement to what’s already been speculated about this unconfirmed Star Wars release.
Initial reports of LEGO’s colossal Death Star surfaced in late 2024, hinting at an October 2025 release with a jaw-dropping $999.99 price tag. If accurate, this would make it the most expensive LEGO set ever produced. However, newly leaked details suggest price might not be the only record this set breaks.
If the rumored $1,000 LEGO Death Star becomes a reality, it will dethrone another Star Wars icon—the $849.99 UCS Millennium Falcon—as the priciest set ever.
According to Instagram account thebrickreporter, the set will also feature more than 40 minifigures. If true, this would make it the LEGO set with the highest minifigure count in history, surpassing the Castle Giant Chess Set, which currently holds the record with 33 minifigures
Lego Is Reportedly Preparing To Reveal A $1,000 Death Star Set
Following closely behind is the $500 Avengers Tower set, featuring LEGO versions of 31 MCU characters. In third place is an older Death Star set, which included 27 Minifigures. That’s right—LEGO has released a Death Star before, and it was already quite massive. The retired set contained over 4,000 pieces and retailed for $500 when available.
The idea of an upcoming set that costs twice as much and includes nearly double the Minifigures is almost unbelievable. Looking at the character lineup from the previous Death Star, it’s clear that if this new set is real, it will likely feature some deep Star Wars cuts. We might even see characters that have never been made in LEGO form before—at least, not outside of the video games.
